Way back in 1907, a factory that produced simple and cheap sandals called alpargatas opened in Brazil. These sandals were used by coffee collectors. Today, it became a fashion icon and turned into a worldwide craze with its new name, Havaianas.
Over the years, the brand has kept surprising the public by proposing trendy and cool flip flops. Though expensive, Havianas became one of the major global sales hit and one of the most recognized brand for flip-flops.
Their latest product is a limited edition doormat with a pair of exclusive Havaianas. It is a pair of Havaianas embedded into a colorful doormat. It simply suggest that you can just pop out from your house, sticking your flip-flops on when you pass by the door.

Frankie Morello's 2008 Spring/Summer Campaign: Amy-Winehouse Look
What a good news after receiving the dubious title of one of the Villains of the Year at the NME Awards.
FYI: Amy's song, Rehab ranked first on the Village Voice Annual Pazz+Jop top songs of the year. Isn't it ironic? She's the Rehab singer who's currently in rehab.

Victoria Beckham is putting up some spice to Marc Jacobs' skin cancer awareness campaigns that aims to warn people of the dangers of excessive sun exposure. Posh has signed up to pose nude for the said project.
Last year the project raised £30,000 for charity, with Naomi Campbell and Julianne Moore fronting the campaign.
The shirts, which have been signed by the star, will be on sale from next week. Here's a photo of David Beckham wearing the shirt last Tuesday in Brazil.

Nothing Beats the Beat of Dinagyang 2008
Last Sunday (January 27), the place where I live, celebrated Dinagyang 2008. Dinagyang is the biggest and most colorful religious and cultural festival in Iloilo City, Philippines. It started some 40 years ago in honor of Señor Santo Niño.
It was considered as the one of the grandest and most spectacular street parade in the country wherein colors and sounds were put together into a dance that reverberates in a multitude of figures and body kinetics. It was a dynamic and religious merry-making activity that symbolizes the devotion of every Ilonggos in making Iloilo "the only one" when it comes to its own story of faith and culture in perfect timing.
Checkout the following photos that reflects the Ilonggos celebration in their most fashionable way...
*Dinagyang was voted as the best Tourism Event for 2007.

Tina Fey, Gisele Bundchen, Mikhail Baryshnikov, Whoopi Goldberg, Jessica Biel, Jennifer Lopez and Marc Anthony in Disney's Fairytale Ads
If I'm right, this must be the third batch of Disney's Fairytale ads. Together with photographer Annie Leibovitz, Disney created a campaign ads that stars Tina Fey as Tinkerbell, Gisele Bundchen and Mikhail Baryshnikov as Wendy and Peter Pan, Whoopi Goldberg as Genie and Jennifer Lopez and Marc Anthony as Jasmine and Aladdin and Jessica Biel as Pocahontas.

Christian Dior Haute Couture 2008
You want something unique and quite weird-looking outfits? Then you should have Christian Dior Haute Couture for 2008. Perhaps it is absolutely not anything anyone could actually wear , but the designs are certainly interesting.
In the Paris Fashion Week 2008, Dior's collection was all about volume, structure, colour and vietnamese-looking head gear. Strapless dresses with fitted bodices and volumous skirts in turquoises, yellows, pinks, purples and maroons can be seen in the runway. Everything matched from the colour coordinated platform shoes and oversized earrings to the eye make-up.

Valentino's Goodbye To The Fashion World
Yesterday, January 23, 2008, the fashion world wept as Valentino bade his final goodbye after a phenomenal 45-years in the business at the age of 75.
Valentino’s latest runway collections got amazing reviews: "It's a happy collection. It's not a collection with tears in between.". It's colorful, playful, elegant, chic, and at times simply breathtaking.
Italian designer Valentino's red dress is projected on the wall during his Spring/Summer 2008 Haute Couture collection show in Paris yesterday. Lipstick red, the color that defined Valentino's career, engulfed his final turn as the designer streamed models down the runway in his signature shade, creating a flame-hued tunnel.

Samsonite's Fahionaire Collection
Fashion then, fashion now..
That's the tagline of Samsonite's Black Label colletion. The company recently reissued its original 1960s Fashionaire luggage collection, one of the hottest travel collections of the Sixties. Samsonite showed then for the first time that luggage could also be fashionable, as well as functional.

The full collection, which is a celebration of the flower-power generation, includes a suitcase, wheeled upright case, beauty case, shopping bag, duffle bag, shoulder pouch, umbrella, scarf, wallet and keyhanger. There’s also two colour schemes to choose from - white or black background.
Of course, it’s a limited edition.

Kirsten Dunst For Miu Miu’s Spring/Summer 2008 Ad Campaign
Kirsten Dunst is the new spokesmodel for Miu Miu’s Spring/Summer 2008 ad campaign. Kirsten looks great coupled with the vibrant splash of colors - the purple and red color combo. The ads had dark shadows and moody feel and include a hodgepodge of French maids, Pierrots, harlequin and Playboy bunnies.
It was shot by Mert Alas and Marcus Piggott in Los Angeles back in November.
